USA spends millions on wildlife infrastructure
Every year animals are involved in an estimated 1 to 2 million car crashes in the united states, those collisions result in expensive repairs, high insurance premiums, severe injuries and even fatalities to humans and wildlife.
Booming populations, and ever increasing traffic had started to isolate all sorts of roaming species and this caused increasing accidents on the roads as the animals so desperately try to reach food, water sources and breeding grounds that they have been using long before human development.
However, strategically placed crossings for wildlife in areas of their natural migration patterns are beginning to reverse these trends, as new data confirms extraordinary results of dramatically reduced rates of collisions and accidents just in the last few years.
The USA now has thousands of wildlife crossings and plans to build many more, new legislation means more money is being allocated to this cause. The most money ever officially allocated for wildlife in the USA. $350 million is set aside for grants to commission a crossing near you, make sure to apply if you need one in your local community.
